I joined the team when I was a junior in High School. Even though mostly everyone had known each other for several years, it did not take long for me to feel like a part of the family. Being on this team changed me. The studio, for me, became a place where I could let go and just be free. At Spotlite not only did my movement and technique get better, my attitude did as well. Being one of the few males dancing in Nashville was really hard. It was difficult for me at first to keep my ego in check, but because the staff’s guidance and wisdom, I stayed humble and worked hard for all of my achievements. I believe that the biggest lesson I’ve learned from the studio is that no matter what, always give it your all and never give up on yourself! Now that I am getting my BFA in Dance, I am truly thankful for all the experience I’ve had because of the studio. Spotlite has taught me how to win, lose, and love. There is no way I could ever repay them. This place surely is something special and it will always be my home.
